Seven Golds at the Smithfield Awards for Cranstons

3rd April 2026

We’ve had some brilliant news from this year’s Smithfield Awards, picking up seven Gold Awards across our range.

Our Korean Sausage, Porchetta, Pastrami, Dry-cured Back Bacon, Dry-cured Streaky Bacon, Pork & Apple Pie, and Ribeye Steak all received Gold – something we’re really proud of, and a great reflection of the standards our team works to every day.

The awards are run by the Q Guild of Butchers, a nationwide network of independent butchers who are recognised for their quality, skill and craftsmanship. Membership is selective, with only the very best butchers accepted, so it’s a standard we’re proud to be part of and measured against.

With more than 200 products entered from across the UK this year, the Smithfield Awards are one of the most respected competitions in the trade. Products are judged by a panel of industry experts, food writers and chefs, and only the highest-scoring entries are awarded Gold.

What makes this result especially rewarding for us is the range of products recognised. From traditionally dry-cured bacon and carefully matured ribeye, to our pastrami and pies, it shows the strength and consistency across everything we do.

James Cranstons, our Head of Supply, said:
“We’re incredibly proud to receive seven Gold awards. It’s fantastic recognition for the hard work and dedication of our team and the quality of the products we produce every day. To be recognised alongside some of the best craft butchers in the country is a real honour.”

All Gold winners now go forward to the final stage of the awards, which will take place at Butchers’ Hall in London on Wednesday 22 April. We’ll be heading down to represent Cranstons and see how we get on in the next round!
