Cranstons show support for Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland

27th January 2026

At Cranstons, we believe in giving back to the communities that support us, and we’re proud to have donated £4,813 to Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland.

The donation was presented by our Business Development Director, Jane Silburn, to Ashley Macauley, Director of Clinical Services at Hospice at Home. This total was made up of funds raised through our in-store collection tins, a Christmas hamper raffle, a 50p donation from every Christmas pudding sold, alongside a Cranstons ‘share of profits’ contribution.

“It’s important to everyone at Cranstons that we support the communities we serve. We’re delighted to continue backing Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland, and this donation has only been made possible thanks to the generosity of our brilliant team and loyal customers. We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who helped support such a vital local charity.”

Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland is one of four charity partners that benefit from our annual share of profits donations, alongside Tynedale Hospice at Home, The Great North Air Ambulance, and Carlisle Youth Zone – all of whom will also receive donations this year.

Founded in 1997, Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland provides free palliative care and support to people with life-limiting illnesses, as well as their families and carers. Their services include a dedicated nursing team of Registered Nurses and Healthcare Assistants, offering skilled care during the last year of life and at the end of life, alongside additional support such as complementary and occupational therapies.

Ashley Macauley said:
“We are truly grateful to Cranstons and their wonderful customers for this incredible donation of £4,813. To be chosen as one of their supported charities means so much to us. Cranstons’ strong family ethos and deep commitment to the local community genuinely reflect our own mission. This total includes an exceptionally generous profit share contribution from Cranstons, alongside funds raised from various initiatives throughout the year.”

“Around 80% of the funding needed to provide our specialist nursing, emotional and practical support must be raised locally. Every pudding purchased, every raffle ticket bought, and every penny dropped into a collection tin makes a real difference. This generosity helps us continue to be there for patients and families when they need us most, and we are sincerely thankful for Cranstons’ ongoing support.”
