Cranstons win 2 Great Taste Golds !
We are over the moon to have received 2 Great Taste Gold awards this year. Judged by the Guild of Fine Food’s expert panel, we were awarded a Great Taste 1 star gold for our Cumberland and Black Pudding sausage and our Ham on the Bone in the world’s most trusted food and drink accreditation scheme.
13,672 products were put through the competition’s rigorous blind judging process; Cranstons Cumberland and Black Pudding Sausage was dubbed a “a very enjoyable and well-made sausage” and Cranstons Ham on the Bone was found to be ‘a great looking slice of ham’. Of the 13,672 products from the UK and oversees that were judged only 40% achieved Great Taste status.
The Cumberland and Black Pudding sausage, which combines lightly spiced pork sausagemeat with Cranstons made in house traditional black pudding and Cranstons Ham which is cooked bone-in to give the meat extra flavour were two of 5,590 products to receive a Great Taste award in 2024.

Recognised as a stamp of excellence and actively sought out by food lovers and retailers alike, Great Taste, organised by the Guild of Fine Food, values taste above all else. All products in the line-up for judging are blind-tasted: every product is removed from its packaging so it cannot be identified, before entering a robust, layered judging process. This year, judging took place over 92 days in Dorset and London, with a panel of more than 500 judges putting the products to the test. The line-up saw food and drink products submitted from an extraordinary 115 different countries across the world.
